The Algorithmic Flesh

Building upon the investigation of AI-generated faces through vacuum-formed reliefs in the previous version of “The Algorithmic Flesh”, this virtual exhibition expands the exploration of how artificial intelligence perceives and reconstructs human identity. The journey traces our evolving relationship with AI through an immersive sequence of spaces: from meticulous analysis of AI-generated human figures, to 3D sculptures and reliefs that confront viewers with AI’s uncanny understanding of human faces, to a speculative museum where AI becomes the archeologist of human existence – imagining and reconstructing human life as future intelligences might interpret our remains.

At the heart of the exhibition lies an interactive space where visitors contribute to this ongoing dialogue, generating and analyzing AI’s interpretations of human forms. The journey culminates in a series of twenty images that chart humanity’s technological evolution – from prehistoric tools to future cybernetic beings – where human flesh gradually intertwines with the machines we create, raising profound questions about what truly defines human identity in an age of advancing artificial intelligence.

These interconnected environments invite visitors to consider not just how AI sees us now, but how it might remember us in a future where silicon outlasts flesh, and, how our deep entanglement with artificial intelligence is fundamentally reshaping our understanding of what it means to be human.
